How To Collect Your Sample
This short video will demonstrate how to provide your sample.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Prior to collecting the sample, wait thirty minutes after eating, drinking, smoking or chewing gum.
STEP 1: Collect your sample
Swish and gargle saline for 30 seconds. Spit into funneled collection tube. Pour blue cap preservative into funneled collection tube. Seal collection tube with red cap and discard funnel.
STEP 2: Activate your kit
Scan the QR code and enter the 12-digit barcode that is adhered to the side of the tube. You must activate your kit before shipping it back to OralDNA Labs.
STEP 3: Ship your kit
Pack box with bagged collection tube. Remove adhesive liner then close and seal box. Place box into US mail.

I collected a sample but didn't ship right away, is it still okay to send?
As long as the provided DNA preservative has been added, samples are viable for 21 days from the date of collection and may be kept at room temperature.

Are there specific temperature requirements for shipping my sample?
Samples may be stored and transported at room temperature.
How long will it take my sample to reach the lab?
2-5 business days

Please ensure the kit is activated prior to shipping your specimen. No additional documentation is required.
